While I was in Crested Butte last weekend, I enjoyed some awesome sushi at Lil's with a couple nice glasses of wine, then to the Princess Wine Bar and two more glasses (a tasty Cab by Lander Jenkins 2009) and more nice conversation with some locals and near-locals.  Since I couldn't and didn't want to sleep after the place closed up, I grabbed my camera and started shooting CB at Night. The low light, no tripod, and four glasses of wine (did I say that already?) lead to some interesting if not down right poor photos, but maybe some good photography.

You decide....

Crested Butte Weekend

Friends needed a ride to Gunnison, CO for the start of this year's Ride the Rockies this past weekend.  They asked me to drive them there, and in return, would pay for night at my favorite moutain town, Crested Butte.  Well,  the Purple Mountain Innwas booked.   Barb and I stayed there last Februray for the Ally Loop and Elevations was way too pricey, so I stayed in the Hostel, which is very comfortable, clean and a great deal.

I was on the Lower Loop trail ride, nothing too technical, on the MTB when I came upon this view for Mt Crested Butte with the Slate River!  WOW, whata sight.  The Fuji FinePic, 3MPix did a fine job for me.

Afterwards, I had dinner at LiL's sushi bar.  The second time I've had sushi and was it good.  The owner has fish flown in five days a week.  Here I am, in the middle of  Colorado, as far from the ocean as you can get (kinda) and eating some damn good fish!!  That, two glasses of wine and good conversation with the locals made for a great evening.

Belfast City Bike Tour

We saw this as we walked out of the bus terminal towards our hotel (Days Hotel).
It set it home that we were in Belfast
Belfast City Hall

Getting ready for a Bike Tour of Belfast.  The Temperature was about 45F.
It got warmer, but until it rained a bit.  It always rained, a bit.
I didn't know C.S. Lewis was from Belfast!
This plaque is in a square across from St Anne's (Belfast Cathedral, protestant) that's called Writer's Square. It's near the oldest and one time largest daily newspaper in Europe (I think). Writers would congregate there looking for work
